The Steelers have 12 draft picks in the 2026 NFL draft, including five in the top 100,

and very likely they won't make 12 picks.

They're going to either trade up or trade back.

And if they trade back, the hope would be to pick up 2027 draft capital.

That is one of the most popular ideas. And it seems easy enough, right? You have 12 picks,

package them together, pick up some 2027 capital. Except that requires interested parties,

and by all accounts, nobody wants to part with their

2027 draft capital.

Some are already saying it might be the best draft class in 10 or 15 years.

Strong at quarterback, offensive line, defensive line, wide receiver.

There's great talent coming through the pipeline at a variety of positions and especially

positions that typically carry a lot of draft value.

Things could change, of course.

We learned that this past year, 2026 was supposed to be really strong quarterback class.

Of course, that is not what ended up happening.

But a lot of things would have to happen for 2027 to not be loaded with talent.

Even teams that might not need a quarterback are going to be hesitant to trade away their 2027 picks

because they simply carry more value.
