With nearly 30 players set to hit free agency at the start of the new league year,

the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to have a number of holes to fill on the roster through free agency and the 2026 NFL draft.

Of course, GM Omar Khan and assistant GM Andy Weidel would be wise to retain some of their own free agents,

like Aaron Rogers, Kenneth Gainwell,

James Pierre, and Isaac Seymalu, at least for starters. But depth is going to be so important

for the Steelers moving forward, especially in the trenches on both sides of football.

One name set to hit free agency that should be retained for a depth perspective is defensive lineman

Assayi Otomewu. He's not a big name and he's not going to make or break the roster.

But he was a sound depth piece for the Steelers last season after being signed a week after

free agency started and not being thought of as much more than a practice squad piece.

By the end of the season, Otamayu was a key rotational guy up front.

He played 196 snaps for the Steelers, generated nine pressures as a pass rusher,
