Safety Mike Wagner's death is a reminder of time's harsh reality.

It just marches forward, and Pittsburgh keeps losing more members of its 1970s dynasty.

Already, too many names have been lost, L.C. Greenwood, Andy Russell, of course, Franco Harris.

Wagner was not a Hall of Famer, but a steady and key player in Pittsburgh secondary with Super Bowl interceptions against Fran Tarkington and Roger Staubach. How many can say that for a career? Nor can many match Wagner's four Super Bowl rings, except of course his Steelers'

teammates of that era. Wagner truly might be the most underrated player of that seal curtain and safeties of his generation. Time marches on, that is inevitable, but it's important to remember

those who set the foundation the franchise currently plays upon.
