and that means that mock draft season has already begun. If you're looking at the early

visions already being published, you will see more than a few that have the Steelers taken

a wide receiver in the first round. No surprise there, given the team's struggles to add a legit

wide receiver two via trade or free agency in the past two years.

What is also a consistent theme is LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier in the second or third round.

While his 2025 season wasn't stellar, a solid performance at the Senior Bowl has added to his draft clout.

It's still isn't clear if Aaron Rogers will return to Pittsburgh, move on to another

team, or retire finally. But if you believe the rumblings, it seems that Rogers will be the

Steelers' starting quarterback next season. All of this math could be bad news for Will Howard,

the Steelers' sixth-round draft pick last year. Sidelined by a fractured bone in his throwing
