The Pittsburgh Steelers made a surprise decision to hire

Mike McCarthy to succeed Mike Tomlin, bucking the expectation that the franchise would go with a

young up-and-coming coordinator that they could grow and build with. Instead, they went with a soon-to-be

63-year-old head coach, one that is on his third stop as head coach, and hasn't had much

playoff success in recent years. But the good news is, the Steelers hired an offensive mind

in McCarthy. They just need to figure out quarterback now, both for 2026 and beyond. That puts

a major emphasis, at least on the outside, on the offensive coordinator hire. But the one question

I have is, does the next offensive coordinator hire in Pittsburgh really matter with McCarthy
