Welcome to The Terrible Take, a daily segment telling Steelers Nation what's on our mind. I'm Alex

Kizura. This is going to sound crazy, maybe crazier than my usual basket of takes. But for a

Steelers run defense that allowed 217 yards to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, an objectively terrible number, I'm not feeling

the dread I did off the Buffalo game or the wild card game last season. I think the run

defense this weekend was okay, which again sounds insane for how bad the numbers look and are.

The run defense certainly is plenty of work to do.

But I didn't see the constant gashing I did against Buffalo or from Henry last season where Pittsburgh felt completely helpless.

Sunday, Henry was held under 100 yards,

had 3.8 yards per carry, and zero touchdowns in

small ways that does feel like a win. Speedy backup Keaton Mitchell busted out the big run, and that

was not acceptable. Pittsburgh still must get off their blocks better. But the run defense

overall put up a better and bigger fight. Some plays

were made, especially down in the red zone and situationally. There was more fight in life.

Y.A. Black is growing up fast because there's no other choice. A tackling across the board was

acceptable. Kim Hayward remains unmovable and Alex Highsmith was great off the edge.
