I'm Ross McCorkel. Today, I want to talk about Roman Wilson. The second year wide receiver was the talk of the town at the end of training camp and into the preseason, and yet has barely made an impact this season.

He's barely gotten an opportunity to make an impact this season.

That all reached an interesting conclusion this past weekend when the Pittsburgh Steelers opted to elevate Marquez Vald as Scantling from the practice squad and give Adam Thielen, who was claimed just days prior a helmet on game day.

Instead of having Scotty Miller and Kishon Williams be the inactives during game day,

Roman Wilson was one of the inactives. Yes, Scotty Miller, who only played three offensive

snaps and one special team snap, got a helmet over Roman Wilson. Reading between the lines a little

bit, Rogers did say that Valda Sc Scantling and Thieland brought a certain

level of professionalism to their preparation and, you know, led to one of the best weeks of practice

that the Steelers have had all year. He did say that that's nothing against Roman Wilson and

Calvin Austin III, but there are other little bits of breadcrumbs of evidence of what might be going

on here as well. Just a week ago, Rogers used Janu Smith's clear wrong route and missed signal

as an opportunity to call out his receivers in general for maybe not getting up to speed on

the hand signals as quickly as he would like them to.
