| 0:45.6 | Well, here comes the defense with the takeaway. |
| 0:48.6 | That's where the Steelers have been so good in close games. |
| 0:53.3 | Down late, the offense, even if they've struggled all game, will come through with a big drive. Even if the Steelers have just been hanging around, no matter how poorly they've played, it's felt like they've had a chance. That really hasn't been the case this year. In week eight against a grand by Packers, things started to go haywire around the Packers sees momentum, and it was exacerbated with a Kenneth Gainwell fumble. In week 10 against the Chargers, the Steelers hung around. Even after a rare miss field goal in the first half by Chris Boswell. When Los Angeles went up 12 to 3, the Steelers turned the ball over on downs, let up another touchdown, and then Aaron Rogers threw an interception in Keishon Williams muffed to punt. It was somewhat similar during the team's five-game losing streak last season. Bad things just spiraled and spiraled. The Steelers just haven't been as resilient this year and recovered from mistakes, especially on their losses. It was a similar story against the Seattle Seahawks earlier this year. In week 7-8s, the Bengals, the Steelers just couldn't buy a stop, but at least the offense was answering. It just feels different this year. So as if the Steelers have always been great at putting out fires, I mean, you can point to their most heartbreaking playoff losses in recent memory, the 2018 loss against the Jaguars and in 2020 against the Browns, as games or things just kept spiraling and took the Steelers out of the game. But it feels as if it's just happening more frequently this season. This is a talented Steelers team, and they did find a way to put it all together. That won't happen if all three phases can't be resilient when one thing goes wrong. Be sure to follow us at Steelersdiba.com. |
