All offseason, we've heard only good things about how the Steelers view their secondary options at receiver, especially Roman Wilson and Calvin

Austin III. On Sunday against the New York Jets, the only need to go out and show that the hype

is more than just that. D.K. Medcalf has just two couches for 31 yards in two matchups when lined up against Soss Gardner, who he'll see on Sunday. But it doesn't mean he can't play well on Sunday, but it does mean that the Steelers shouldn't go into the game and be overly relying on Metcalfe. The team will need to utilize their secondary weapons. I have Pet Fireworth as my X factor in the game, but the Steelers will need to get

something out of Wilson and Austin.

A tepid search of the season will raise doubts, fairer or not, that all the offseason talk was just lip service and will continue to cast doubt on Pittsburgh's receiver room as a whole. It is just one game, and it's the first game in the season. for Austin he's coming off an cost him the entire pre-season, and Wilson played just five snaps last season as he dealt with injuries. We shouldn't overreact their performance, but it sure feels as if they'll need to contribute in some meaningful way for the Steelers to win on Sunday. A strong performance from one or both of them can also help them continue to build trust from quarterback Aaron Rogers. If he throws their way and they can't make plays, the opportunities can become scarce as the season goes on. Establishing that report and trust early in the season will be big for the rest of the year. We'll see what happens, but it's an important opener for Wilson and Austin in particular.
