I'm Alex Kizura. What is a hold-in anyway? That's what I'm asking myself after the summers Kim Hayward and

Chris Boswell have had. Two men looking for revised contracts so top-of-the-market play can be

reflected in top-of-the-market pay. Adam Schaefter dropped word of both their requests mid-training

camp and everyone assumed it was a hold-in. So when Hayward returned to practice earlier this week, and Boswell kicked in the preseason, the hold-ins were declared over. But did they ever start? A kicker hold-in is kind of a funny thing to say knowing what their camps always look like. A lot of it is stand aground in watching the world go by. If a tree falls in a forest, doesn't make a

sound. If a kicker holds in, does anyone notice? Still, Boswell routinely dressed for practice

and kick before and during practice, never in a formal 11-on-11 period, though that only

took place, I think, once during camp, but Boswell worked about as much as you'd expect a 34-year-old

established kicker who does not need

reps would. Hayward's absence was more noticeable. During team period, he only worked during the

acclamation days of training camp the first four before doing only individual work, if not outright

resting, the rest of the summer in Lat Trobe. But for Holden, practicing
