opener is 24 hours away, while many veteran players will sit

out, Aaron Rogers, Jalen Ramsey, D.K. Metcalfe, and the like, and others will miss due to injury,

while Howard's broken finger is still a bummer. There is plenty to watch for. Here's just a couple

names I'm keeping an especially watchful eye on when the ball kicks

off. Tight-end J.J. Galbraith is a name I mentioned on a previous take. His hot start of camp cold

off a bit, typical for athletes when the pads come on, but he should get plenty of reps with a

tight-end group looking thin. Can he block? Can he play on special teams? Can he make a play

downfield as a receiver? Cornerback Deshawn Jameson might be small, but plays big and has really

come on strong thanks to extra reps due to Ramsey and rookie Dante Kent missing time. Jameson

is physical and intense and a good showing could begin a path to the practice squad.
