I admit I cringed a little bit when

the Steelers Training Camp schedule was released back in June. After holding a slew of morning

practices last year, Pittsburgh kicked them back and reverted to its previous schedule of 155

sessions. Mike Tomlin claimed heat was the main reason,

as in wanting to practice when the day was at its hottest

to prepare for the year.

Instead, half a camp has been waiting out the rain in the AC.

Three of the five, Steelers' practices have been impacted

to varying degrees, either shortened sessions

or in yesterday's case, a completely lost

in rain-soaked-canceled practice. Moving practices to the morning would not solve everything.

It rains in the morning, too, as it did at least one day in camp before the team's mostly

dry afternoon session. But practicing during the hottest portions of the day naturally lends itself to the
