Something that I've found to be really interesting lately

is researching some former Steelers from way back when the franchise first started.

For one example, when researching the list of Steelers players that have worn the number

five, after the Steelers gave that number to newly acquired quarterback Jimlin Ramsey,

I found Gene Augustifer,

a defensive back and fullback who appeared in just one game for the Steelers in 1935

back when they were still known as the Pirates.

While he only played one game in the NFL and for the Steelers,

he then went on to have a pretty successful coaching career

at Arkansas A&M and Catholic University.

I just found it really fun to go back and look at some of the players

that made up the early iterations of the Steelers.
