One press conference in and all is calm.

Aaron Rogers had not only his first Steelers practice Tuesday, but also his first meeting

with the media.

It was a longer Q&A, expected given how much there is to talk about, but it felt

pretty normal. Refreshing for the saga of this entire offseason. Rogers said all the right

things, so that really should not come as a big surprise. He can and probably will at some point be

prickly with the media and honest to a fault, but it's also day one. It's June. Life is good,

and every team is optimistic about its season. This is the honeymoon phase. What's interesting

about Rogers is he'll answer the question as asked. He's candid and straightforward, a stark

contrast to say, Russell Wilson, who always had to have the, quote, right answer,

the can response that could turn some off.

Of course, Rogers himself can get into trouble and make media headlines with such honesty.

He at least was self-aware enough to deflect one question,

asking him to compare the Steelers to other teams,

saying he did not want to throw

any other clubs under the bus. Rogers actually gave some great answers that showed a sense

of pride in joining the Steelers. That alone, of course, does not mean Pittsburgh is destined to

make a serious playoff run, but it might calm some fears that Rogers is too focused on himself.

No question, his presses will be must-see TV, no matter if times are good or bad.
