Without looking back, I'm sure somewhere in the previous 500 terrible takes, I've railed against the idea of the Big 12 Pro Day before, but I am doing it once again. The three-day event

wraps up Friday, a concept implemented in 2024 to get rid of the conferences, having

individual workouts, and centering the entire conference each school

in one location. Now, in theory, it made sense. Stop forcing NFL teams to pick and choose schools

and put them all on one big stage. The day essentially functions like a mini combine, and that is exactly the

problem. It should not be another combine. There's a couple problems with this switch. One, it does

not seem to draw top talent. I haven't heard about head coaches or GMs attending. At best, you get positional coaches like

the Steelers sending wide receivers coach Zach Azani on Thursday. Part of the issue of top

names not traveling to scout is because top names of prospects do not participate. For example,
