Entering Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers remained in a holding pattern at the quarterback

position as they awaited a decision from a 41-year-old Aaron Rogers.

That had many feeling a bit anxious and in some cases angry.

And then in one fell swoop, the cowboy, Mason Rudolph rode back into town,

signing a two-year deal with the Steelers, giving fans something to rejoice about at the quarterback position.

The last time the Steelers saw Rudolph, he was playing quite well late in the 2023 season,

winning three straight games to lead the Steelers to the playoffs. Dare I say, he guided the

sleigh. He played relatively well in that wild card round lost to the Buffalo Bills too,

before leaving for the Tennessee Titans and free agency for the 2024 season.

Now, though, he's back in the Steel City with an outside chance of being the starting quarterback, depending on what happens with Rogers,

It's not the biggest move and certainly won't excite many.

But with the options dwindling and things growing rather concerning at quarterback, the move

to resign Rudolph was a really good one for the Steelers, especially at just 4.5 million guaranteed.

He knows the city, knows the locker room, has plenty of experience, and he profiles as a good fit in Arthur Smith's scheme with his big arm mobility and pocket presence.
