I'm Ross McCorkel. Daniel Jeremiah recently went on the Sheck Show with Dave Dammeccheck and chimed in with his

two cents on why the Steelers have been falling off a cliff late in seasons.

One possible explanation he offered was the Steelers' physical training camps and practices

which possibly wear players down by the end of the season.

While it's true, the Steelers do have

the most physical training camp in the NFL, and they do tackle more than basically every team

in their padded practices. Blaming December and January struggles on that seems like a bit of

recency bias. The Steelers have been holding physical training camps dating back to the days of Chuck

Knoll and certainly Bill Cowher too.

Tomlin has been doing it that way for 18 years, and if anything, he has leaned more into giving guys

things like veteran days off and other rest measures.

Tomlin's career winning percentage?

63%.

Tomlin's win percentage in December and January? 63%. It's the exact same. There is zero

evidence other than the small sample size of the 2024 season that the Steelers fall off down
