Welcome to The Terrible Take, a daily segment telling Steelers Nation what's on our mind.

I'm Alex Kizora. The Pro Bowl games? Fine by me. It's better than the

shell of itself the game became by the very end before the format change. Pro Bowl alternates,

of course. If you're going to have games, you need people and you need alternates. But alternates

counting on actual resumes, I can't get behind that one.

This week, quarterback Russell Wilson, guard Isaac Sayamalu, and linebacker Patrick Queen,

were named Pro Bowl alternates for injury and Super Bowl replacements.

None of those guys had Pro Bowl caliber seasons, and yet they will be credited for it when we look back on

their career. It just seems unnecessary. Don't get me wrong. I'm happy for guys like Ross especially.

That was his 10th Pro Bowl, putting him an elite and exclusive company with the likes of Brady,

Unitas, and Rogers, but it didn't feel fully earned. So change the rule? I guess the

biggest concern is convincing some of these guys to play. If it doesn't count as a Pro Bowl,

will these guys just skip out in decline as alternates? There is a rule that alternates who do

decline the invite do not get credited for a

Pro Bowl. But I just make sure these guys, these alternates get paid well for going, and that should

be enough to get someone to take a trip and get away for a few days' vacation. Pro Bowl should

only be credited to those who make the initial roster.

That keeps the nod being special and as earned as possible.

A simple and easy change the NFL should implement as they continue to tweak the format of the event.

If they can change the entire nature of the game and the weekend. They can change who gets credit.
