embarrassing exit from the postseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers, it was expected that at some point

the Art Rooney the second bat signal would go up at some point early in the offseason, so the media

and fans could hear from the team president and owner. That occurred Monday afternoon, and, well, it was quite

overwhelming.

Not surprising what Rooney said, but still underwhelming nonetheless.

The biggest takeaway, at least for me, was that Rooney doesn't believe the size of the

Steelers' coaching staff, or lack thereof, is part of the problem.

He couldn't be more wrong.

Nobody is asking the Steelers to have the largest coaching staff in football.

But very clearly in today's game, having the smallest coaching staff, and one that is a bit

underwhelming as far as pedigree goes under Mike Tomlin isn't working.

Rooney then made it worse by stating he wasn't anticipating any big changes to the coaching

staff and later said that in the gauntlet against the Eagles, Ravens and Chiefs that it was

clear the Steelers weren't on the same level as those teams. Well, Art, that's because the Steelers were out-schemed and out-coached in those games.
