In 2009, Mike Tomlin infamously said that the Steelers were going

to unleash hell in the month of December because they had to. They were on a three-game losing streak

at the time, and they ended up losing two more after he said that phrase. They missed the playoffs

and went two and two in the month of December. Over the last several years, their December woes have gotten worse.

Since their last playoff win, they have gone 20 and 17 in the month of December.

Not terrible, but not really that great.

A loss to the Kansas City Chiefs would move that to 20 and 18.

It would also be yet another three-game losing streak in the month of December.

It would be the fourth three-game losing streak in December since 2017, the fifth, if you include 2018, where they continue to losing streak that started in November. The teams that have the most playoff success often peak as they enter the postseason. You don't want to be a team on the decline when the playoffs hit or you

end up one and done like the Steelers have done four times since their last playoff win in 2016.

You can point to the recent rash of injuries or the brutal schedule of Eagles, Ravens, Chiefs,

all in a row, but good teams that hope to contend deep into the playoffs don't lose all three.

To me, it is of the highest importance that the Steelers find a way to win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
