Welcome to the Terrible Take, a daily segment telling Steelers Nation what's on our mind.

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense gave up 31 points to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, a season high, excluding the pick six they obviously were not

responsible for. They allow chunk runs, could not get red zone stops, sneakily becoming a pretty

big problem overshadowed by the offensive issues.

But I will say this, despite that showing, the defense made the big plays.

They forced three turnovers all critical moments.

Nick Herbig doing the same is one of the plays of the game, a scoop and score from Peyton Wilson. And Cam Hayward's tip pass that Dante Jackson picked off was also huge.

Facing high-octane offenses like the Bengals, they're going to score, they're going to move

the ball. Same with the bills and probably the Chiefs once they get in the playoffs and

turn things on like they always do. The defense's best counter are takeaways, steal a possession, shorten the field, win

the turnover battle.

That's how they gain the edge.
