Welcome to The Terrible Take, daily segment telling Steelers Nation what's on our mind. I'm Ross McCorkle.

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a bunch of attrition along their offensive line this season.

Troy Fautano and James Daniels were both starters that are out for the season. Nate Herbig was a key backup who's out for the season.

And then both Zach Frazier and Isaac Sayamalu have missed significant amounts of time.

Through all the turmoil, fourth round rookie guard, Mason McCormick, has emerged as a bright spot for the Steelers.

His play hasn't been perfect, and he is still a rough around the edges in certain ways.

Coming from the FCS to the NFL is a big adjustment, but I think Arthur Smith said it best.

McCormick has turned into a, quote, finish king for the offensive line.

The type of stuff that you can't really coach McCormick has, while the issues are coachable

for the most part, his aggression and his relentless motor to play through the whistle

is helping shift the culture of the offensive line.

This is something that Zach Frazier is great at, too,

but it is more expected from him being a second round selection.

I don't think there's any doubt that McCormick will be the starting guard in 2025,

and there should be high expectations for him at that.

If Fautano can return and stay healthy,

there are very good times ahead for the offensive line.

That would be three young and hungry players who are absolute maulers with high effort

and the ability to finish plays.

That type of aggression can help propel the next era of offense in Pittsburgh.
