I've seen the headlines throughout the week are the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl

contenders. That's the wrong framing. The better question is can they win a playoff game?

Now I get why the national media is not going that route. It doesn't draw as big a headline and frankly they might not even realize the drought

Pittsburgh as Meyrton. It's a fact you know and I know but when I mention it to other

fan bases they always raise their eyebrow.

No Steelers playoff win since 2016.

I know Super Bowl is the goal.

This is an organization that does not hang banners simply for getting past Wild Card weekend, but this is about first steps.

So can they win a playoff game?

Yeah, I think they can.

Russell Wilson showed what this offense can be and frankly what more they can be, and frankly, what more they can be, given their slow start in missteps against the

jets. A group that can put up points and not try to win a slug fest with a Lambo that won't try to engage and will just go around you instead.

Now is every week going to result in 37 points?

No. Can Wilson take out my homes? I'm still not loving those odds.

But that's the big takeaway from the Jets game a real sign of this team being capable of winning a different way

than they have the last two years coming into 2024 the recipe for taking this next step was clear.

Have an average scoring offense in a top five scoring defense.

Right now, they're right on the button.

Number 16 ranked offense and number 2 ranked defense.

That can win a playoff game.
