Even with the Steelers sitting at four and two on the season and things seemingly back on track

after the blowout win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Tuesday was expected to be an interesting day for the black and gold,

particularly at the quarterback position.

Head coach Mike Tomlin sure didn't disappoint as he stated Russell Wilson is in consideration to start in week seven against the New York Jets, which obviously would move Justin Fields to the bench.

That set off quite the reaction in Steelers Nation.

None of it surprising.

Fire Tomlin, Steelers are a joke.

Fields should demand a trade, etc. etc. This isn't a surprising development for the

Steelers. Yes, Fields has helped lead the Steelers to the foreign two mark on

the year. His rushing abilities have been rather impressive. He's

avoided mistakes for the most part and done what has been asked of him under

center. But he hasn't played well the last two weeks from a passing perspective.

He's missed throws due to bad accuracy, and he's failed to pull the trigger on throws down

field due to either not seeing them or not trusting himself. outputs of 117 and 145 yards through the air in the last two weeks

simply isn't good enough. Period. Maybe Wilson can improve on that.

Maybe he can't.

Time will tell.

But coming into the season, Wilson was the better passer.

Period.
