I'm Ross McCorkle. After an off-season of contract negotiations, Cameron Hayward

re-signed with the Steelers on a three-year deal that is more or less a year-to-year contract.

The Steelers can get out pretty easily if they want that is more or less a year to year contract.

This dealers can get out pretty easily if they want to with a lot of money tied up in roster

bonuses so it ended up being team friendly and probably not exactly what

Hayward wanted when he began his mini holdout during

O TAs. That being said, but the pace Hayward is on there is no way the Steelers

will be looking to get out of his deal anytime soon. In fact, he looks like a

complete bargain in those future years.

Over the Cap has his 2024 valuation at $20 million.

If you look at Pro Football Focusing grading system, he has over a 91.1 overall grade.

That is not only elite, but it is the second best grade for an interior defensive

linemen in the entire NFL right now.

That is the type of performance that can be worth well over 20 million per season.

Yeah, at his age there was a certain risk but he has been pretty healthy throughout his career

even when he came back and was playing clearly injured last season he was still a menace against the run

now that he is healthy he is completely dominating against the run he is having his way with the posing

offensive linemen and he is a huge part of the reason the Steelers have the top

defensive line in the league right now. With three sacks Hayward is on pace for

eight and a half this season. That would be the fifth best season of his

career in sacks and he is performing just as well in other metrics.
