I'm Josh Carney. All off season we heard the noise about how the Pittsburgh Steelers can't

be a team built on defense in 2024 that playing that style of football by leaning

on a star stud of defense and running the football simply wouldn't work in

today's NFL. That same noise also said that Mike Tomlin was done in the NFL as a successful head coach,

and that this would surely be the first year he had a losing season in his career.

Three games into the year though, the Steelers are playing the

exact style of football they set out to and they are bullying opposing teams.

The great Mike Tyson once said everyone has a plan until they're punched in the mouth.

For the Steelers, their plan is to do the punching in the mouth.

And so far, it's working.

That's star-stead of defense looks like the best one in the NFL and it isn't particularly close.

They're suffocating offenses, allowing just 8.7 points per game, and they're taking over

games in the second half. Yes, it's just three games into the

season, but the formula for success for the Steelers is very clear and it's working,

as evidenced by that three and oh start.

They're doing exactly what they set out to do this season,

all while dealing with some adversity due to injuries at key positions.

This team under Tomlin knows how to win in the regular season, period.

They make it ugly, turn it into a street fight, and they're usually the ones that come

out on top with the win.
