The Rooney founded Pittsburgh Steelers truly do have the luck of the Irish.

Their fumble luck has been off the charts favorable

so far in 2024 and again it went their way in Sunday's win over the

Denver Broncos. Though Pittsburgh was far cleaner in week two than they had been this season, disaster nearly

struck late in the game when the road environment and silent count Pittsburgh worked

on led center Zach Kraz Frazier to snap the ball before Justin Fields was ready for it.

Blame here is a little hard to assign and Guard Spencer Anderson did tap Frazier twice, potentially sending a mixed signal.

But point being, that ball was up for grabs.

Incredibly, it hit off a field's helmet, Warren's hands, kicked off Anderson's foot, and then back up in the Warren's hands, kicked off Anderson's foot and then back up in the Warren's hands who nearly ran for yards before being tackled.

In the preseason, there were at least three instances of fumbles not falling into the opponent's hands, two against

Houston, another versus Detroit on a similar snap miscommunication, as was the case

in the regular season opener when two near mishaps occurred early against Atlanta, neither

were lost.

All of that is to say Pittsburgh has gotten incredibly lucky and you got to wonder when that

luck will run out.

The good news, as I mentioned earlier, is the Steelers were cleaner in that Broncos game

and getting to play at home this weekend will be a nice change of venue after back-to-back

road games.

Hopefully these near turnovers stop happening because soon enough they'll

become flat-out turnovers.
