For the second straight pre-season, outside linebacker Nick Herbeck was a game wrecker for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The second year pro finished tied for the league lead in preseason sacks with 3.5 and he did it in rather impressive fashion too.

Herbeck played just 33 total snaps in the preseason.

And yet, he was a true game record by definition.

He couldn't be blocked.

Harbick recorded six pressures and the three and a half sacks, including a strip

sack in just 22 past rush reps. Yeah, you heard that right. That is remarkable. Though he's going to be behind

TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith at outside linebacker once again this season, the

Steelers have to find a way to get him onto the field a bit more.

Last season, Herbeck averaged roughly 10 defensive snaps per game.

In those 10 defensive snaps per game,

Herbert was impactful, recording three sacks and two

forced fumbles.

Head coach Mike Tomlin and defensive coordinator Terrell Austin need to find a way to push those snaps

up to around 20 per game on a consistent basis.

Even if that means getting her big on the field at the same time with Watt and Highsmith.

The second year Wisconsin product has seemingly taken his game to another level.

He's a dynamic athlete with some very impressive traits overall.

You can't let that type of talent sit on the bench and only see the field briefly throughout

games, regardless of the type of talent in front of him.

It's time for the Steelers to get creative and create more headaches for opposing offenses this season.
