As you know, I like to use these takes to address the topics I can't really discuss otherwise.

There may not be super-stealer-centric.

So remember in the off season, when the NFL banned

the hip drop tackle and fans, media, and defensive players freaked out that it would ruin the game that you wouldn't be able to

tackle that the NFL was out to make every game 50 to 48 to create highlights and sell tickets.

Through two weeks of the pre-season, I don't think anyone has talked about it.

I know I haven't until this point.

I could be wrong, but I'm not aware of a single instance of it being flagged in game.

And I haven't given the rule change a single thought since the games kicked off and had to remind

myself this was the story for about a 48 hour news cycle earlier this year.

Now I understand the NFL said this play would not be penalized often.

Their legislation and punishment would come in the form of post-game fines, the ones announced the following Saturday after each game week.

So maybe the NFL will crack down or it will become a story again once players

wallets are impacted in the game start counting. In fact I'm sure it'll

come up again when that rare flag changes the course of an outcome. I know that's

on the horizon. But sometimes the big changes or the ones we think are big changes that the NFL makes have smaller outcomes and impacts than we think. I believe that's true with the kickoff change and the hip drop band seems to be
