Welcome to the terrible take a mini podcast telling Steelers Nation what's on our mind.

0:07.1

I'm Joe Clark.

0:09.4

Are the Pittsburgh Steelers really going to have a package of plays for Justin Fields.

0:14.0

It does seem increasingly likely with what we've seen out of OTA's, but I do have concerns

0:18.8

what the viability of how one would work.

0:21.3

We saw Fields work on the read option and Russell Wilson expresses support for

0:24.8

a package for fields and even fields working in, you know, a Cordell-Stewart slash roll.

0:28.4

But I'm a little bit worried it would disrupt the rhythm of the offense taking Wilson out for those snaps and it

0:33.8

could be predictable too. Obviously the Steelers could up them in plays where

0:38.9

Fields does throw the ball and it's not all-around heavy and but a path to the fields of

0:43.4

quarterback does just feel a little bit gimmicky if he's just coming in to

0:46.0

spell Wilson for a few plays. We've really only seen a specialized package for a

0:50.2

quarterback type player work with Tassam Hill and he's also lined up all over the field and I don't really think we're going to see fields landing at a tight end.

0:57.0

Teams have tried to run specialized background for players with you know certain athletic gets before with Tim TiVo being one that comes to mind,

1:05.3

but there just hasn't been a consistent level of success with them that has me convinced that a package for fields would work.

1:11.3

I do trust Arthur Smith, I think he can design some creative

1:15.2

plays and I think he's going to be good for the Steelers offense. In Fields

1:18.9

Athleticism is certainly tantalizing. But I'm just not convinced a package of police for him to run regularly

1:25.1

would be something successful for Pittsburgh in the long run. If they do it, I sure hope I'm wrong,

1:30.6

but I do think it would be a tough thing to have consistent success with.
