I'm Josh Carney. Christmas came early for many of us draft geeks.

If you get that reference, kudos to you.

The NFL announced the City of Pittsburgh and the Steelers organization will host the

2026 NFL draft.

Giving the Steelers franchise and owner Art Rooney the second something they've been

clamoring for for the last few years since the league moved the draft away from Radio City

Music Hall in New York City. After seeing the great

success that places like Cleveland, Nashville, and most recently Detroit had

hosting the NFL drafts in recent years, it's now time for the great city of Pittsburgh, the

Steel City to take center stage and put on quite an event in two years.

Growing up, the NFL draft had my attention constantly. Even as a young kid, I would watch every

single round, every single selection. I was glued to the TV. It captivated me, drew me in, made me an even bigger

football fan, even if I was teased a bit for watching the draft so closely. And now that spectacle that is the NFL

draft it's coming to our beloved city. What a moment. For many, it might not be viewed as a big deal.

And it might be an inconvenience for a lot of people.

But for those that love the draft process in the draft coverage itself.

This is basically Christmas, though with the caveat that it's opening up a present on Christmas

morning that you can't experience for two more years.

But hey, what the draft will do for the city and for the area in general will be awesome to see.

Especially with Rooney believing it will be the biggest visitor

event in the city's history.
