Top the bottom, the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackles aren't just big lumbering run blockers.

They are athletes.

Pound for pound, maybe some of the best on the team.

Broderick Jones was a top tier athlete coming out of Georgia, a high school basketball player who can dunk and carries his weight extremely well.

Troy Faututani was great in space, a former volleyball player who can mall and mirror.

Back up Dylan Cook was once a college quarterback who made the transition to

offensive line showing sweet feet and plenty of promise. Even Anderson Hardy

sign of the team's off-season roster in January had well over a 9 RAS coming out of

app state running a sub 5 second 40 with an impressive 31 and a half inch

vertical. Now does that automatically translate to NFL success? Of course not. These are baseline skill sets, not true football technique. But in a world where we talk about athletes as running backs or wide receivers or DBS,

remember everyone is getting more athletic,

including and especially the offensive tackles.

They have to.

You can't be big and slow in Block Miles Garrett or T.J. Watt if you're an opposing team.

If anything, these tackles have to be more athletic than the DNs they're facing.

They gotta defend those types of pass rushes going backwards, not forwards.

Find the athlete, refine his technique.
