Welcome to the terrible take. A daily segment's telling Steelers nation what's on our minds.

0:05.2

I'm Melanie Friedlander. As we get closer to the 2024 NFL draft, it seems more and more likely

0:10.9

that the Steelers will be taking a center in the first two rounds.

0:14.3

The question is, who will that player be?

0:17.0

Selecting at number 20 in the first round, there is a good chance that at least two of the

0:20.6

top three prospects will still be on the board. It's equally likely that they will

1:10.0

In the Steelers' recent history, there is plenty of cause for concern.

1:14.2

You only have to look back three years to the third round selection of Kendrick Green.

1:18.3

He played only four games at center in his college career and the rest at left guard and

1:22.2

was entering the draft after his junior

1:23.8

year. The Steelers handed him all pro center Morquis Pouncey's Jersey number and

1:28.2

started him in week one to say it didn't work out as being generous.

1:32.9

On the flip side, Alejandro Villanueva moved from tight end to defensive tackle
