Over the past two pre-draft cycles, former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback,

Ike Taylor has seemingly played a key role for the organization

from an evaluation standpoint.

So far this pre-draft cycle, Taylor has been key in putting prospects, like Alabama's

Terrian Arnold and Cooley

McInstry and Miami's Cameron Kitchens through position drills not to mention

LSU's Andre Sam. He was also present for the Michigan Pro Day to get a good look at cornerback Mike Seinrestil, a popular target for the Steelers. Taylor has openly talked about being a scout for the Steelers too. Even most recently on an

episode of the All Things Covered podcast with former Steelers

cornerback Brian McFadden and Patrick Peterson stating that GM Omar Khan

was true to his word and hired him after taking the top job for the Steelers in 2022.

Knowing all of that and going off of Taylor's words in a public space like the podcast, it raises the question, why is Taylor not listed

as an official scout for the Steelers as part of front office personnel? He's very clearly putting in the work and is proud of what he's doing.

He's done well identifying guys so far too. The Steelers appear very comfortable in putting him out there to work out defensive backs and seemingly trust his opinion.

And he is also apparently in the meetings talking about these players with decision makers.

Again, that's coming from him in podcast settings.

So why is he not an official scout on the Steelers website? It doesn't make much sense based on everything

we know at this point. He seems to be doing a great job and is valued by Khan and head coach

Mike Kama.

Hopefully him not being listed as an official scout changes soon and he gets his recognition as that official scout in the Steelers' front office.
