Now that the Steelers are officially in the off-season,

our attention turns to building a better roster for next year that can take the team further in the post season.

Heck it would be nice to just win a playoff game.

As it currently stands, the Steelers have just seven draft picks in 2024.

That could change with trades, but compensatory... dealers have just seven draft picks in 2024.

And those seven picks won't be enough to fill the many holes in the current roster,

especially considering the number of pending free agents who played this year.

The biggest area of need is one that seems the least concerning back in week one, and that is

Inside Linebacker.

You'd have to go all the way back to 2017 and the combination of Ryan

Cheshire and Vince Williams for the last time the Steelers had a talented duo

with the starting lineup. But thanks to Omar Khan, that problem seemed to be addressed with the signing of Cole

Holcomb, Kwan Alexander, and Alanden Roberts. Fast forward to the middle of November and

both Holcomb and Alexander were lost to seizing any injuries. Just over a month later, Roberts was sidelined with a pectoral injury

that he miraculously managed a play-through after missing just one week.

Alexander will become a free agent.

Roberts is signed through 2024.

Holcomb is under contract through 2025.
