With the season over for the last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been largely quiet in their search for a new offensive coordinator.

On Monday, the Steelers finally made some noise in that search, reportedly requesting an

interview with Zach Robinson for the open position. Of course Robinson was the passing game

coordinator and quarterback's coach for the Los Angeles Rams. Though Robinson

doesn't exactly fit the criteria that Mike Tomlin outlined in his year-end

press conference stating that he wanted someone with experience as a plate

caller.

Robinson is a popular name as an offensive coordinator candidate not not just in Pittsburgh, but around the NFL.

Not only is he part of the Sean McVeigh coaching tree.

He's a former NFL quarterback himself and has had a key role in the Rams' passing attack the last few seasons.

He's working alongside McPhay's entire time in the NFL, and he's worked with some great players

in Jared Golf, Matthew Stafford, Cooper Cup, and more in Los Angeles. and

more in Los Angeles. Though he doesn't have that experience calling plays in the

regular season where games actually matter, Robinson was given a shot by the Rams in the preseason.

He called games from the sidelines and from the booth, getting a shot to evolve in his role

in Los Angeles.

He's viewed as an up-and-coming coach in the industry and he has ties to quarterback

Mason Rudolph which could make him a very popular candidate for the Steelers

especially with Tomlin and teammates stating emphatically that they want Rudolph back in 2024 and beyond.

We'll see what transpires in the days and weeks ahead with Robinson and the Steelers.
