And if you look in Pittsburgh?

Well, don't look at the head coach.

Maybe look at the defensive tackle and team captain.

Cameron Hayward's tenure in Pittsburgh as a franchise stalwart seems much closer to the end than ever

before, especially after his comments following the wild card loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Hayward had a trying season in his 13th year in the NFL,

missing six games due to a groin injury suffered in the season opener that required surgery.

After the loss to the bills, Hayward called it a very difficult season and was quite emotional, adding that in his heart he wants to play in 2024, but that he needs the off season to assess his body and let it heal to figure out what he wants to do next.

Of course, there's also the questions about his contract situation, considering he's owed more than $16 million in 2024 and has a cap hit over 22 million in the same season.

At 35 years old on the defensive line he can't come back at that number.

Maybe he can't come back physically either.

Hayward battled back from surgery to get onto the field for the Steelers,

recovering in six weeks from a 12-week injury.

He wasn't the same though once he returned.

Maybe the offseason will do wonders for him, allowing him to rest and heal up for one final season with the Steelers.

There's a possibility though that that might not happen,

which makes this potentially being the end of the A-word error in Pittsburgh,
