What a difference three weeks make from seven and four to seven and, the Pittsburgh Steelers went from an AFC contender to wondering if Mike

Tomlin would get fired or traded after the season. Three weeks after that, they've somehow found themselves in the playoffs with a chance to pull off the

upset Sunday afternoon. These three weeks have also created some long-term questions chiefly

around Kenny Pickett's place in this team's future, but my overall takeaway is the NFL can be a roller coaster of a season.

Rarely does a team, especially one built like Pittsburgh, have everything go right all year or everything

go all wrong.

It has ebbs and flows, ups and downs, and requires time and

patience to see how things play out.

Advice I can take to upset as anyone over their three-game losing skid

and their losses to the Cardinals and Patriots are still not excused

despite Pittsburgh's playoff finish. But this team does what they do best.

Back themselves into a corner and then fight their way out. There's no question that

makes for a frustrating anxiety-ridden year, but that's what you sign up for when you watch this team.

They've completed the first step of their goal,

buying a lottery ticket to the post-season.
