The Steelers are known as the model of stability of patience of not making knee-jerk reactions. In many ways, it served them

well over the past 50 years, but in recent seasons, it's hurt them just the same.

Pittsburgh hung on the mat Canada at least one year too long.

They should have moved on from him after the 2022 season,

but retained him for continuity's sake so Kenny Pickett would not

have to learn a new system from a new OC. Keeping him led to an entirely

predictable result.

Now, Pickett's gonna have to do it next year

a critical make or break season with no time to waste.

But Tribisky started one game too many. What happened on Saturday against the

colts was just as expected, turning the ball over too much against an

aggressive and takeaway happy Indianapolis defense. Sure, it was just one game, but the most critical one of the year

for Pittsburgh who did not have the margin of error to give that one away. Now they no longer

control their destiny. Sometimes you have to make a difficult

decision and do so quickly. Seeing things through until the end is not always the right move.

To quote Kenny Rogers, you got to know when to hold them and know when to fold them.

Pittsburgh's played too many losing hands.
