Summary

Maj. Gen. Frank Donovan of the U.S. Marine Corps sat down with Ryan to discuss the recent mission and exercises of Task Force 61/2, from Greece and Turkey to the Baltic Sea. Aside from playing an important role during a delicate moment in European security affairs, this task force was kicking the tires on Force Design 2030, the future vision for the Marine Corps, which we've previously discussed with the commandant, Gen. 0:40.9	So Task Force 612 is a task force within the Naval C2 structure, command control structure of the 6th
0:48.4	fleet, so the 6th fleet Naples, Italy, and that is the 6th Fleet Commander of Vice Admiral Black is responsible for both
0:56.4	Yukom and Afrikams, you know, a maritime region, literal regions for us.
1:02.2	And so the task force fits under inside of his structure.
1:06.8	So task force 6.1, Commander Task Force 61
1:10.1	is the commander of the carrier strike group.
1:12.9	Six2 is commander of the naval amphibious forces,
1:16.9	Europe and Africa.
1:17.7	And then it just goes down to the line of the adjacent
1:21.4	task force commanders working for that fleet commander.
1:24.4	Most of them are 06s, except, or colonels or Navy captains except the carrier strike group will always be a one star.
1:30.1	In this case, the task force 6.1 slash 2 was a marine two star.
1:35.8	Your recent mission in Europe has created a bit of buzz in the Marine Corps and the broader
1:39.5	defense community.
