Unfictional is a program of true stories and personal documentaries.

So back in 2010 when this program was just beginning,

we broadcast an episode that has become sort of an unfictional Halloween classic.

It comes back to haunt us every couple of years.

It's the story of a birthday party held in Los Angeles of the early 90s when someone suggests

improvising a Ouija board on a dining room table. A Ouija board in case you

don't know is sort of a game board that's printed with letters

numbers and the words yes no hello and goodbye a group of people sit around the

board each with their fingers lightly on a heart-shaped piece of wood

or plastic that's been placed on the Ouija board.

And if it's done correctly, the theory goes, that piece of wood or whatever will begin to move on its own and

spell out words, communications from some other dimension. And that's exactly what happened at that long ago

birthday party when perceptions of reality were altered. Relationships were

damaged and people were forever changed.

I mean I know that there's another dimension where our spirits go.

It's just I wasn't brought up to believe that that realm could interact with the present.

I really wanted to go back to my comfort zone and that wasn't in my comfort zone.

It really freaked me out.

From KCRW.com, it's unfictional where Mark, Deborah and Christie tell the shocking absurd and hauntingly tragic story of the seance. A long time ago in my native country of France, my best friends would sometimes leave for a year or two at a time and go to foreign countries.

And that particular year in the beginning of the 80s, they came back with

mystical knowledge, having been exposed to mysticism and spirituality.
