Molly Hensley Clancy of the Washington Post published an investigative report on Monday concerning what her report describes as, quote, verbal and emotional abuse, controlling, berating, and humiliating players and breaking the boundaries of the player coach relationship for former Chicago Red Star's head coach,

Rory Dames.

Kristen Press, Jen Hoy, and Samantha Johnson all spoke on the record for the story, and

press detailed how she tried to report Dames twice to U.S. soccer, once directly to former

U.S. soccer president, Sunil Galil Galati in 2014 and then via an actual investigation

in 2018. On Sunday night, the Chicago Red Stars emailed a statement accepting Dames's

resignation at 1154 central time before Hensley Clancy's story was published. And in a quote,
