Summary

Paul Morgan-Bentley, author of “The Equal Parent” and dad to his three-year-old son, he welcomed into the world via surrogacy with his husband, Robin. As a gay dad, Paul found himself in a unique position as he took on primary caregiving and felt sick of all the praise he received for doing the basics. He saw how mothers were carrying the labour of childcare and asked why parental care is so unequal in households across the country. Is it biology? Gendered stereotypes? or something else?  This episode dives into that very question. Plus: what needs to change in workplaces, how fathers can reach the same levels of oxytocin as mothers and what allomothering is.
