Our case today is about a man who spent his life lying, manipulating and killing.

His name is Edward Wayne Edwards, but that isn't the name he was born with.

He enters the world as Charles Murray. The unwanted son of a young woman society had already written off.

His mother, this woman called Lillian Myers, is abandoned by her boyfriend Charles Murray when he learns she's pregnant.

I found it very interesting that she decided to still name her son after his father

who has left her.

But I think that just shows us is a sign of the times.

At this point, we're back in the 1930s.

So Lillian faces really harsh judgment as a single mother.

Society looks down on her and it seems everyone is judging her.

But in October of 1934, Lillian is working as a housemaid.

Her days are spent scrubbing floors and dusting shells moving through long days of cleaning

for wealthy clients but desperation has taken root and she makes a choice that will change everything
