I don't know if it's a funeral.

It's just it's bad news. Now, yeah, they won last night. That was cool. It's cool to see the offense do things. Corey Seeger home run number 20. You get a nice three spot early. Michael Hellman, of all people, hit a two-run homer. And how about Patrick Corbyn, who has been just complete ass over the past handful of starts in August?

He goes eight innings. Best start of his Ranger career. Yeah. He was like Cracker Barrel last night and reverted back to its old self. He did, yes. He got back to being good, which is that in and of itself has been a surprise this season. And it just breaks your heart because you've had that type of year from Patrick Corbin of all people.

And Tyler Malley was having a great year before he got hurt.

And you knew Jacob de Grom would be treated with kit gloves here at the end of the season because of an innings limit.

And now the question is, when are you going to shut him down?

Because we got the awful

news yesterday that Nathan Avaldi has a rotator cuff strain which that in and of itself sounds

like okay he doesn't need surgery maybe big bullet dodge maybe he'll be fine over the offseason

but let's keep in mind shoulder issues tend to reoccur and I know that Tyler Malley went down with a shoulder issue. And they're thinking, oh, maybe he'll be back before the end of the season. And here we are with a month to go. Yeah, he ain't coming back. He ain't even close. He's probably thrown his last pitch as a Texas Ranger. And you got Evo under contract for two more years. He's going to be 36 next year. And it just sucks because in 22

starts, 15 of those he's given up a run or less. He's got a 173 ERA. He's doing historic things.

Now, I don't think he was going to win the Cy Young even if healthy, but he was a contender

for it. He would have been a runner up, I would imagine, in the American League. Yeah, he'd be top

three at least.

Minimum.

And the season he had, and you mentioned all the rotation itself, with Corbyn being, you know, in the month of August, he's been awful other than last night.

But other than that, you didn't expect much of them when you brought him in.

He's a guy that's from 2020 to 2023 was a guy that would eat innings and give up a ton of home runs.

And you just needed a guy that would eat innings. And he's been way better than that this season.

He has. I think his ERA is somewhere in the fives right now.
