Right here, since we're the baseball show of of record and we'll be on an airplane in two

days flying to Surprise Arizona for our annual trip to Ranger Spring training. We've got to talk

a little baseball and I don't know if we were necessarily planning on doing a full baseball segment

today, but the club made some news as the Rangers and former Pittsburgh Pirates MVP, former NLMVP, Andrew McCutcheon, have agreed to a minor league deal.

He is 39 years old.

Apparently, if he makes the roster, he's going to get $2.5 million from Texas this year.

And on the surface, I have no real issue with this, but just from a baseball

standpoint, I really felt like McCutcheon was having a nice little end of his career

swan song with the team that he rose to prominence with, the Pirates, because he went back

there in 2023 and actually had a pretty nice year. I think he hit, you know, 20 home runs

or something like that. And, you know, he's, I think he's aging somewhat gracefully in that uniform because I don't know if he's a

Hall of Famer. But he's definitely, he's a Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer. And his 20s were

unbelievable in Pittsburgh when he won the MVP and he had almost an eight war one season which is almost unheard of.

But 09 to 2017 was pretty much his heyday.

Yeah.

Age 22 through 28, he was great.

And then, you know, he was a center fielder.
