On Wednesday morning in Washington, the scene outside of the

Supreme Court captured the enormous stakes of the case that was about to be argued before its nine

justices. This is pivotal. This will define the immigration experience for decades.

Birthright citizenship has just been a big part of what it means to be American for a very

long time, like almost as long as the country. The crux of this is illegal or those here temporarily

shouldn't receive the benefit of American citizenship, which is to be cherished.

A case about President Trump's efforts to end birthright citizenship that literally asks

who gets to be an American.

So this case was very important for me because I'm an immigrant too.

We all came for the reason because U.S. is a shining city on the hill.
