There walked one fair day across the market square in Aldorf,

Tall and straight, broad and shapely, with ruddy, bearded face, and proudly held head.

lived quietly in a mountain cottage with a wife who shared every thought of his heart and children for whom it was his delight to work.

He hunted deer in the mountains and went fishing on the lake.
