0:31.3	The Child Story by British author Charles Dickens is often thought to be just a child story,
0:37.0	but it actually goes much deeper.
0:39.0	It's an autobiography in a sense that takes us on a hazy journey through Dickens past,
0:45.3	leaving us only with a grandfather who has outlived most of his family and has only memories to share.
0:52.2	Dickens lived a carefree childhood until the age of 11,
0:55.0	when his father lost his job and,
0:58.0	unable to pay his debts, was put in debtors' prison,
1:01.0	along with the rest of the family, with the exception of Charles, who was forced to work in a factory to pay for his family's incarceration.
1:09.0	That was the way things worked in Mary Old England in the mid-19th century.
1:15.0	Ticken's family eventually inherited enough money to rise from their situation,
1:19.0	and Charles found his future in writing, at which he was very good, and soon his books began to sell very well.
1:27.2	He married, they had ten children, but his wife became sick and died in his arms. His children grew and went their own ways. Not all surviving life storms.
1:39.0	If you read between the lines, it seems that Dickens is telling us that he never got over the loss of
1:44.4	his wife and some of his children which although he had gained fame and success saddened
1:50.3	him greatly and now the child's story by Charles Dickens.
1:57.0	Once upon a time, a good many years ago, there was a traveler, and he set out upon a journey. It was a magic journey and it was to
2:06.5	seem very long when he began it and very short when he got halfway through. He traveled along a rather dark path for some little time
2:16.6	without meeting anything, until at last he came to a beautiful child. So he said to the child, what do you do here?
2:25.4	And the child said, I am always at play.
2:28.4	Come and play with me.
2:30.7	So he played with that child the whole day long and they were very merry.
