This is a very special edition of Velshi that you're watching as Great Britain mourns the loss of its

longtime monarch. America is also today marking a somber anniversary. Tributes in cities across this

country marking the 21 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks. And we are going to take you

live to the New York City 9-11 Memorial. Later this morning, by the way, President Biden is set to speak at the Pentagon, we're going to

bring you all of that and more.

Music Good morning to you. It is Sunday, September the 11th. I'm Ali Valshi. It's 8 a.m. here in New York City, a sacred hour on this sacred day. 46 minutes from now, the country will observe a moment of silence to mark the moment when a plane struck the North Tower at the World Trade Center, 21 years ago today, the first of a

series of terrorist attacks that day that changed the world.

People are gathering at the World Trade Center Memorial in Lower Manhattan right now,

many of whom lost a loved one on this day in 2001.

There will be five other moments of silence this morning, as well as the traditional reading of the victim's names.

President Biden is currently on his way to the Pentagon where he will take part in a rethlaying ceremony and deliver remarks in honor of the victims of 9-11.

We'll be keeping an eye on all of those events this morning. We'll bring it to you live as they

happen. It's also a day of remembrance in the United Kingdom, a country that is in a period

of national mourning following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. A few hours ago, her casket

departed Balmoral, the Scottish estate, where she died on Thursday at the age of 96.

Right now, you can see it here, her body is being transported by Hearst to the monarch's official residence in Edinburgh, Scotland.

A trip that takes approximately, well, under normal circumstances, two and a half hours.

Today it's going to take six hours because of the crowds, because the procession will slow down. You can see it there on your screen moving from left to right. The lead car there, the lead black car is the casket. It has a glass covering on the back, in which you can see the casket covered by Royal Heraldry. It will be her first

stop on the way back to London, where she will lie in state in Westminster Hall to allow the public

to pay their respects beginning on Wednesday, September the 14th. Her casket will remain there

until Monday morning, September 19th, when her funeral will be held. Presently, members of the royal family are
